Breckenridge Colorado Ullr Festival & Snow Sculptures


Breckenridge Colorado is known for it’s great winter ski and snowboarding and funky shops. Oh and don’t forget the tasty handcrafted beers of the Breckenridge Brewery with its offers Autumn Ale, Avalanche Ale and Christmas Ale. Coming up January 6th – 13th, 2006 is the great Ullr Fest a week of festivities praising the Norse God of Snow – Ullr. Jam out during the week while MTV tape free concerts from the Goo Goo Dolls, Cheyenne Kimball and Dashboard Confessional. On Monday, January 9th, 2006 hang out by the Ullr bonfire with a hot cocoa or cider. Events go on all week and include a parade, Ullympics, and Ullr Comedy night.

Another great event is the Budweiser International Snow Sculptures. Held January 24th – January 29th, 2006.

“In its 16th year, artists from all over the world will come together to present the most intricate, awe-inspiring snow sculptures the world has seen. These artists will carve twenty-ton, 12-foot-tall blocks of snow down to pieces of art using only their creativity, inspiration, own two hands and permitted hand tools.”
